An argument for oily skin

Poor ol’ oil – it certainly has a bad wrap. From washing it out of our hair to cutting it out of our diets, oil is constantly marketed as an enemy we need to avoid at all costs.

When it comes to skin, here at Kelapa we think a little differently …

The skin produces oil (sebum) as a way to keep itself moisturised and protected from environmental stressors, therefore, we like to honour the skin’s natural process and work in harmony with it – not against it.

Stripping the skin of its sebum leads to dehydration that can result in skin damage and premature ageing. Oil acts as a barrier to not only keeps nasties out, like pollution and harsh sunlight, oil acts as a blanket over the skin to keep it’s goodness in.

Particularly in winter and spring, when the skin is prone to dryness, replenishing your skin’s moisture loss with a topical sebum alternative will ensure your skin is nourished and healthy year round.

Just as there are good and bad oils to incorporate into your diet, there are oils that have a better affinity with the skin. Jojoba, rosehip and coconut oils – all of which are contained in Kelapa’s Face Oil – are a wonderful way to keep your skin in tip top shape, whatever the weather.

Rejuvenate and replenish with this deeply nourishing Face Oil. Wonderful for restoring a youthful glow to your complexion, our Face Oil is a lightweight, non-greasy formulation designed to moisturise and enrich tired skin.

Crafted from a beautiful blend of organic Jojoba, Rosehip, Almond and Coconut oils, our Face Oil can be used on its own to deeply nourish your skin or using the bottle’s pipette, can be added in drops as desired to our Face Moisturiser or Night Cream for moderated hydration boost.
